  4. Approval of Minutes: May 8, 2017
    1. Susan stated she had sent changes to be made - will be corrected after meeting
      1. Daniel suggested not necessary to take another vote
      2. Susan moved to accept minutes

  5. Farmers Market
    1. Gigi was frustrated she was unable to reach anyone and needs assistance placing and collecting signs for market
      1. Need be placed Wednesday morning and removed Wednesday nights
    2. First night did very well - over 700 people attended
    3. Environmental commission needs to acquire folding table to use at market
    4. Gigi brought up cost for Facebook advertising - showed receipt from last year
      1. Stressed to use this media to get message out - it works
    5. Mention made to explore different and possibly larger location to host next year's market
    6. Daniel looking into having permanent signs placed around town
    7. Matt spoke with Joe Garcia regarding library staff - Mayor and council will issue proclamation acknowledging library support
    8. Susan will divvy up responsibilities for setting/removing signs; whose brining and or storing table for following week
    9. Daniel inquired if market has a google address
      1. Tony said will look into it
  6. Old Business
    1. Daniel is going to speak with Nicole about a replacement tree and what help Shade Tree is going to be able to provide in order to ensure the new tree is planted
    2. Tove Jun Chung inquired if there would be scholarships available this year
      1. Susan informed him and commission that due to legalities involved, a separate foundation would need to be created in order to raise funding for scholarships
        1. Other clubs that currently offer scholarships are privately funded and not using public funds
        2. Susan stated unfortunately scholarships would not be possible this year
    3. Daniel Asked Gigi when first art show can take place
      1. Gigi is working on it
  7. New Business
    1. Tony handed out some suggestions and information regarding Environmental commission's mission statement, including possible formation of by-laws and such - asked everyone to submit thoughts
      1. Before going forward Mission statement must be created and come to an agreement on what it is
      2. Education should be a priority
    2. Matt made suggestion to use "what's app chat" for commission members as not everyone seems to be receiving boro emails
    3. Tove Jun Chung reported the High school students gathered garbage for a day to determine how to better recycle items
      1. Susan stated students created a wonderful film about climate change and presented it to the High School and community
    4. Susan inquired - do we as a commission want to have a "green event" in addition to annual Earth Day event?
    5. Susan would like to write a proclamation supporting the Hackensack River keeper's efforts in getting Hackensack River declared a super fund site
      1. Wants to declare as a commission we support the Paris Environmental agreement
